Sensex recovers 73pts; trading at 16,950

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange recovered by 73 points in early trade today after recent losses on emergence of buying by funds and retail investors at prevailing levels. Covering-up of short positions by speculators also helped stocks to recover part of lost ground. The 30-share barometer, which had lost over 401 points in the past two sessions, recovered by nearly 73 points, to over 16,950.In a Similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also moved up by over 15 points to over 5,133.
