Sensex recovers 27 points in early trade

Snapping a two-day losing streak, the BSE benchmark Sensex recovered by 27 points in early trade today to trade at 18,692 on emergence of buying by funds and retail investors in select stocks.Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange indexNifty gained 6 points to trade at 5,525.In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was up by 0.51 per cent and Japan's Nikkei by 0.73 per cent in early morning trade.The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.31 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
