Recovering from early losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood a solid 306 points or 1.6 percent in positive territory, at 19,569, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened 161 points in the negative zone, at 19,102, on sustained selling pressure. The benchmark index has lost 440 points in the last five trading sessions.Elsewhere, the key stock indices in Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia were up by between 0.3 percent and 1.5 percent, today. But in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had closed 1 per cent lower, in yesterday's trade.
