Most key Asian markets rose today. The domestic stock markets posted handsome gains, with the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange spurting 432 points to 26,396 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had shot up as much as 508 points. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had surged 133 points to 8,033 a short while ago. Banking and realty stocks were the leading gainers.Other key Asian markets in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore had climbed between 0.2 percent and 0.9 percent.And at the forex market, the rupee had strengthened 46 paise to 66 against the dollar in late-morning deals. The rupee rose on heavy dollar selling by banks and exporters, and surging domestic equities.
