The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange slumped 431 points, to close at 19,692. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange plunged 127 points, or 2.1 percent, to close at 5,980.Other Asian markets ended mixed. Japan's Nikkei advanced 1.2 percent and South Korea's Kospi index gained 0.2 percent. But Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 1.4 percent; China's Shanghai Composite index shed 0.2 percent and Singapore's Straits Times index lost 0.4 percent.
