The BSE benchmark Sensex today plunged 311 points to 19,751 in late morning deals today.

Earlier it fell nearly 85 points in early trade due to sustained selling by funds amid a weak trend in other Asian markets.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, declined by nearly 104 points, to 5,990.
