At the stock markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged 261 points, to close at 28,747. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 83 points, to 8,684. Shares of companies deriving orders from the railways mostly lost ground, following the presentation of the Railway Budget. Cement stocks declined, while fertiliser and steel stocks ended mixed amid a freight hike in select commodities.
