Sensex pared initial gains today on slight profit booking in consumer durable shares, but was still trading up by 53 points at 19796 in late morning deals. The 30-share index resumed firm at 19,770 up by 51 points from its previous close.The NSE 50-stock index Nifty was also trading higher by 9 points at 6,011.
