Sensex opens 65 points up in early trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained over 65 points in early trade today. However, it lost its initial gains and was trading at 19,654 up by over 6 points when reports last came in. Analysts said investors and funds made selective purchases ahead of the RBI's monetary policy review later in the day.Meanwhile, in the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was down by 0.27 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei shed 0.10 per cent in early trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.17 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
