The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged 340 points, or 1.3 percent, to close at 26,297, on almost across-the-board selling. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 101 points, to 7,860.Stocks fell across the world, on growing concern about the global economy, after the IMF chief warned that the euro zone could fall back into recession. The rupee depreciated 30 paise, to close at 61.35 against the dollar. Gold dropped 30 rupees, to 27,370 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver lost 250 rupees, to 38,750 rupees per kilo. Brent crude oil futures fell to USD 88.11 a barrel, today, its lowest level since December 2010, as Saudi Arabia said it had increased production last month. U.S. crude oil slipped to USD 83.59 a barrel, its lowest level since July 2012.
