At the stock markets, both the Sensex and the Nifty hit record intra-day highs, today. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange scaled a lifetime intra-day high of 32,252 in afternoon trade. Later, after trimming its gains, the Sensex had climbed 201 points, to 32,230 a short while ago. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also touched a new intra-day peak, and had later 46 gained points, to 9,961. Stocks rose on better-than-expected quarterly corporate results. But at the forex market, the rupee had depreciated 10 paise, to 64.42 against the dollar in afternoon deals.
