At the stock markets, both the Sensex and the Nifty hit fresh record intra-day highs in morning trade. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange touched a new intra-day lifetime peak of 33,332. It later remained steady, to climb 161 points, at 33,318, a short while ago. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange touched an all-time intra-day high of 10,384. It later stood at 10,374, up 51 points. And at the forex market, the rupee had strengthened 11 paise, to 64.93 against the dollar in afternoon deals.
