The Sensex at the Bombay stock exchange on Monday day ended the day with modest gains. It marginally rose by 24 points to close at 19,889. Most of the benchmark stock indices ended the day nearly flat even as some of the Small-Cap stocks kept the market sentiments positive. IT shares continued their recent good run while Banking and Realty were at the receiving end. The BSE Midcap index shed 9.64 points to close at 7558.37. While the BSE Small cap index ended the day up 37.15 points to close at 9221.15.The Nifty at the National stock exchange finished the day marginally down by 1.70 points to close at 5947.05.
