The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 43 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 17,096, in opening trade on Wednesday. After easing somewhat, the Sensex stood 28 points, or 0.2 percent in the green, at 17,081, a short while ago.Stock markets in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore were trading modestly higher.
