The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Wednesday gained over 44 points in the opening trade on fresh capital inflows from foreign funds. The Sensex was trading at 17,087, up by 36 points when reports last came in. Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was trading 5 points up at 5106. The Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up by 0.06 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei almost flat in the morning trade on Wednesday.
