Sensex losses 490 points in last three trading sessions

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged 290 points to 16,541 in early trade, today, on sustained selling by foreign funds, amid weak Asian bourses. Later, the Sensex trimmed its losses, to stand 195 points in the red, at 16,636 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share Sensex had lost almost 490 points in the last three trading sessions.Key stock indices in Japan, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore Taiwan, and South Korea were down by between 0.5 percent and 2.8 percent, today, after poor US jobs data raised fresh fears about the health of the US economy, and European elections over the weekend added to jitters about the euro zone's future.
