The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost its early gains though it is still trading up by 66 points at 18,586 in the afternoon trade. The BSE benchmark Sensex rose 144 points in early trade on expectations that the government would take steps to attract capital flows to fund the current account deficit but could not maintain the gain. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty also moved up by 20 points to 5,492.
