The BSE benchmark Sensex fell 72 points to 18,329 in early trade today on fresh selling by funds and retail investors. On similar lines, the wide-based National Stock Exchangeindex Nifty declined by 23 points to 5,386. Brokers said, selling by funds and profit-booking byspeculators ahead the GDP data for the first quarter ended June 2013, to be released later in the day. In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was down 0.12 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei Index shed 0.67 per cent in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.11 per centhigher in yesterday's trade.
