Sensex loses 62 points in early trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange today fell for the fourth straight day by losing nearly 62 points in early trade due to sustained selling by funds amid a weak trend in other Asian markets. The 30-share barometer fell by 62 points to 19,484. The index had lost nearly 670 points in the previous three sessions.The wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty dipped below 5,900-point mark by falling 21 points to 5,899. In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index traded lower by 0.93 per cent, Japan's Nikkei Index fell 0.32 per cent, in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.50 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
