The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell by 53 points in early trade today, as funds and retail investors booked profits after recent gains, amid a weak trend in other Asian markets. The 30-share barometer had gained 217 points in the previous two sessions.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell by 19 points to 5,911.In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei Index was down 0.57per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shed 0.26 per cent in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.94 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
