The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 19 points, or 0.1 per cent, to 17,709 in opening trade, this morning, on mild profit-booking by funds and retail investors, after two sessions of gains. Later, the Sensex lost some more ground, and stood 50 points, or 0.3 percent in the red, at 17,679 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share Sensex had gained over 170 points in the previous two trading sessions.Other Asian markets in Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, and Taiwan were up by between 0.1 percent and 1.8 percent, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.1 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
