Extending its winning streak for the third straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 78 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 18,316 in opening trade, Friday, on the back of firm global markets. But the Sensex later surrendered almost all of its initial gains, to stand just 13 points, or 0.1 percent in the green, at 18,251, a short while ago. Other Asian markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, and Taiwan were up by between 0.1 percent and 1.4 percent, amid encouraging US housing and jobs data.
