Sensex jumps 211 pts to 38,193 in opening session; Nifty rises 63 pts to 11,290

Equity benchmark Sensex jumped over 200 points in early trade today led by gains in index-heavyweights amid positive cues from global markets.
 
The 30-share index was trading 211 points or 0.56 per cent higher at 38,193 and the NSE Nifty jumped 63 points or 0.56 per cent to 11,290.
 
In the previous session, Sensex settled 593 points or 1.59 per cent higher at 37,982 while the NSE Nifty surged 177 points or 1.60 per cent to 11,228. 
 
Bourses in Shanghai and Seoul were trading with gains in mid-day deals, while Shanghai and Tokyo were in the red. Stock exchanges on Wall Street ended with significant gains in overnight session.
 
Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.44 per cent lower at 42.68 US Dollars per barrel.
