The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 70 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 16,153 in early trade, today, as funds and retail investors booked profits after yesterday's gains. But later, the Sensex recovered considerably, and stood just 5 points in the red, at 16,217, in volatile afternoon trade, a short while ago.Other Asian markets in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong were down by between 0.3 percent and 2.3 percent, today, on uncertainty about the European debt crisis, and the future path of Chinese growth. But the US Dow Jones Industrial Average had gained 0.3 per cent, yesterday.
