The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange surged by 48 points or 0.28 per cent to trade at 17,280, a short while ago.Earlier the Sensex stood 45 points or 0.27 per cent in positive territory at 17,278,in late-morning deals. In the opening trade the Sensex rose by 106 points to 17,338 on fresh buying by funds and retailers.Similarly, Nifty at the National Stock Exchange was up by 11 points, or 0.23 per cent at 5,247.
