Sensex gains over 30 points in afternoon trade

Trimming some of its intital gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 32 points, or 0.2 percent in positive territory at 19,836 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had gained 68 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 19,872 on mild buying interest in select bluechips. The 30-share Sensex had gained 71 points in the previous two sessions. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore were trading mixed, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.2 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
