Sensex gains more than 120 points in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchnage rose 132 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 17,332 in opening trade, today, on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, ahead of industrial output data, and amid positive regional bourses. Later, after climbing almost 200 points at one stage, the Sensex pared its gains, to stand 123 points, or 0.7 per cent in positive territory, at 17,322, in afternoon deals, a short while ago.Other Asian stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore had posted modest gains of upto 0.5 percent, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had gained 0.7 per cent, overnight.
