Sensex gains 95 pts in opening trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained 95 points in opening trade on Wednesday. The sensex was trading at 17,532, up by 71 points when reports last came in. The gain is due to continued capital inflows by foreign funds amid a firming global market. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.23 per cent higher in the previous session. In Asian markets, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.32 per cent and Japan's Nikkei 1.20 per cent in the morning trade on Wednesday.
