The BSE benchmark Sensex rose by 92 points in opening trade today, extending gains registered in the past two sessions on continued buying influenced by a firming trend in Asian markets.The 30-share index, which has gained 638 points over the past two sessions, rose further by 92 points, or 0.58 per cent, to 15,906 in opening trade today.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index moved up by 30 points, or 0.62 per cent, to 4,763.Capital goods, realty, banking, metal and oil and gas stocks accounted for the lion's share of the gains on the Sensex.In Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose by 1.10 per cent.The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.51 per cent higher in yesterday's trade. The stock market in Japan was closed.
