The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 85 points, or 0.5 percent, to 17,707, after choppy trade, on fresh buying by funds, amid firm global markets, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 33 points, or 0.6 percent, to 5,368.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea added between 0.8 percent and 2.4 percent.
