The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 50 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 19,511 in early trade, today, on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, ahead of domestic industrial output data. Later, the Sensex gained some more ground, and stood 81 points, or 0.4 percent in the green, at 19,541 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. The Sensex has lost nearly 545 points in the past eight trading sessions.Elsewhere in Asia, Japan's key stock index jumped 1.9 percent, Singapore's stock index was flat, and South Korea's stock index had lost 0.3 percent, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.2 per cent lower, yesterday.
