The BSE benchmark Sensex which gained 55.20 points in the previous session, moved up further by 77points to 18,218 in opening trade on Friday. The broad-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index also rose by 25 points to 5,453. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was trading 0.24 per cent higher, while Japan's Nikkei edged higher by 0.29 per cent in morning trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial average had ended 0.36 per cent higher in the previous session.
