The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 75 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 18,505, amid positive global cues, today. The Nifty rose 22 points, or 0.4 percent, to 5,620.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong and South Korea gained between 0.3 percent and 1 percent. The rupee strengthened 18 paise, to 53.80 against the dollar.Gold declined 50 rupees, to 31,500 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver shed 250 rupees, to 59,400 rupees per kilo.And Brent crude oil futures rose toward 110 dollars a barrel, while US crude climbed 91 cents, to 86.59 dollars a barrel.
