The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 64 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 30,922, just hours ahead of the the Goods and Services Tax rollout. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 17 points, to 9,521.And at the forex market, the rupee appreciated 5 paise, to 64.58 against the dollar.
