Paring its intial gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 49 points, or 0.3 percent in the green, at 19,459 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened with a much more robust gain of 194 points, or 1 per cent, at 19,604, on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, on expectations of a rate cut by the Reserve Bank in its monetary policy review next week.Key stock indices in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea were trading mixed, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.1 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
