The BSE benchmark Sensex opened more than 46 points in the positive territory today on sustained buying by funds amid a firming Asian trend. The BSE index, which gained 452 points over the past three sessions, added another 46 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 17,212 in the first five minutes of trade today. In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty Index moved up by 10.50 points, or 0.20 per cent, to 5,164. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was up by 0.31 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei Index rose by 0.09 per cent in morning trade today.
