Recovering from initial losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 35 points, or 0.2 percent, at 17,802 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened 89 points, or 0.5 per cent in the red, at 17,677, on profit-booking by funds and retail investors, amid weak Asian bourses. The 30-share Sensex had gained nearly 455 points in the last four trading sessions.Stock markets in Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Indonesia were down by between 0.1 percent and 1.2 percent, today. The US Dow Jones had had ended 0.4 per lower in yesterday's trade.
