Sensex gains 34 points in opening trade

Sensex recovered by nearly 34 points in early trade today on fresh buying by funds and retail investors. The 30-share index, which had lost 180 points in theprevious session, recovered by 0.17 per cent, to 20,459.The National Stock Exchange Nifty inched up by 2.25 points to 6,061.35. Consumer durable, realty, capital goods and oil and gas sector stocks led the recovery.In Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined by 0.12 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei Index was down 0.65 per cent in early trade today.
