The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 92 points, or 0.5 per cent, to 19,479 in opening trade, this morning, on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, ahead of industrial output data, and amid firm regional bourses. Later, after trimming some of its initial gains, the Sensex stood 31 points, or 0.2 per cent in the green, at 19,418 in afternoon deals, amid choppy trade, a short while ago.Key stock indices in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea had advanced between 0.2 pecent and 0.8 percent, today, following signs of progress in fiscal cliff talks in the US. Wall Street's Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.6 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
