The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange jumped 192 points, or 1.1 per cent, to 18,346 in opening trade, this morning, on renewed buying by funds and retail investors, triggered by firm Asian markets. Later, after gaining almost 270 points at one stage, the Sensex eased somewhat, but still stood a good 207 points, or 1.1 per cent in the positive zone, at 18,361 in afternoon deals, a short while ago.Key stock indices in Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore were up by between 0.3 percent and 1.7 percent, today. Across on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had gained 1 per cent, overnight, after new US jobless claims dropped to their lowest level since March 2008.
