Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 182 points, or 0.9 percent to close at 19,577. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange added 57 points, or 1 percent, to 5,899. Stock markets in Japan, China, South Korea and Singapore ended mixed. Stock markets in Hong Kong were closed for a holiday.
