The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained 179 points to trade at 17055 in afternoon trade today. The 30-share BSE index had risen by over 180 points in opening trade.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty Index moved up by 40 points to 5116.
