The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex regained the 17,000-point level at noon today on buying by funds in heavy-weight stocks on a firming global trend. The Sensex was trading at 17029, up by 289 points when reports last came in. The upsurge was led by stocks of Tata Motors, SterliteIndustries, Reliance Industries, Infosys Technologies, ICICI Bank and R Comm.
