The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 164 points to trade at 30,465 in late morning deals. Earlier, the 30-share index rose by 122 points to 30,424.The NSE Nifty was also trading higher by 56 points to at 9,417 a short while ago.The rupee climbed 25 paise to 64.48 against the dollar on increased selling of the American currency by exporters and banks amid higher opening in the domestic equity markets.
