The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 154 points, or 0.9 percent, to 16,860, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange added 40 points, or 0.8 percent, to 5,104. But stock markets in Japan, China and Hong Kong lost between 0.1 percent and 0.8 percent, on worries about Spain.
