The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 133 points, or 0.8 percent, to 17,333, on fresh buying by funds, amid firm Asian markets, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 50 points, or 1 percent, to 5,277. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore advanced between 0.7 percent and 1.8 percent.
