Sensex falls over 160 points in afternoon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange had lost 166 points, or 0.8 percent, to 19,832 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had declined 157 points, or 0.8 percent, to 19,840, on profit-booking by investors, after gaining over 1,750 points in the last four trading sessions.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea were trading mixed, today. But Wall Street's Dow Jones Industrial Average had gained 0.9 percent in yesterday's trade.
