Sensex falls by 60 points in early trade

Extending losses for the eighth straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell by 60 points in early trade today. The fall was attributed to sustained selling by investors, on worries over domestic political stability and a weakening trend in global markets. The 30-share barometer had lost 890 points in the past seven sessions.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell by 20 points to 5,614.In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shed 0.19 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei fell 0.67 per cent inearly trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.44 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
