The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell by almost 55 points in the opening trade today. .The 30-share barometer, which had gained 137.26 points in the previous trading session, fell by 54.92 points or 0.27 per cent to 20,248.20 in the opening trade, with stocks of IT, banking, oil and gas, and capital goods sectors under pressure.Similarly, the wide-based National stock Exchange index Nifty, moved down by 15.20 points or 0.24 per cent to 6,090.60 at the outset.
