Sensex falls by 108 pts.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 108 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 17,413, in early trade, today, as funds and retail investors booked profits, amid weakness in the other regional bourses. Later, the Sensex remained subdued, and stood 128 points, or 0.7 per cent in negative territory, at 17,393 in afternoon deals, a short while ago.Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan had lost between 0.8 percent and 1.8 percent, on concern over a slowdown in China, and after Japanese machinery orders fell more than expected.
